The Bill proposes to consolidate the existing legislation and introduce very significant changes to the planning system in Ireland and in particular the law governing enforcement and judicial review of planning decisions.
The conference analysed the key elements of the published Bill with a particular emphases in changes introduced since the previous draft bill published in early 2023.
It highlighted the proposed changes in the area of plans and policies , development control, enforcement, judicial review and costs.
The conference comes following the formal establishment of the Planning & Environmental List of the High Court; and provides a platform for proposals for further reform and refinement.
